A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to be part of an awesome collaboration that raised £44,500 for the UK NHS. This was a totally unexpected result and not something we initially envisioned happening.
When lockdown was imposed and the concept of “business as usual” was turned on it’s head Generation CFO Founder, Christopher Argent teamed up with ACCA, Accountex and Practice Ignition to create something for the Accounting & Finance community.
It was to be something valuable, accessible and free at a time when all businesses were struggling in different ways. So we reached out to our community and asked them what they wanted to hear about? What their priorities were? And we took these themes and turned them into an action-packed two day of learning and opinion from excellent speakers.
The summit addressed three key areas; people, process and technology, focused specifically on how COVID-19 was to impact each of these key area and what we could do about it.
There’s a tonne of content available on the summit website and all the replays. We’ll be sharing the highlights from day two, which was focused on Industry and Finance Functions in business, in the coming weeks.
Personal highlights we’re Jonny Jacobs session on mental fitness in business and the easy reporting session with Mark Cracknell, Gary Crawford & Dr. Juergen Faisst.
Faisst’s point on a common reporting language struck a note and felt compounded at a time when reports and forecasts we’re being re-worked frequently to respond to market changes following COVID-19 chaos. Great work IBCS!
