Celebrating Innovation!

Our awards will help celebrate the finance teams in industry that are using digital technology to help improve their business and their own careers. The world is going through fundamental change, and CFOS and finance functions are leading this change with interesting and incredible uses of digital technology and we want to reward and recognise that.

Why should you enter?

Entering these awards allows you to be celebrated for your hard work and innovation by your team members, your peers and your clients. It’s an opportunity to stand out from the crowd and highlight yourself as a member of the profession that is helping to lead change and innovation. It’s also a fantastic opportunity to meet other leading Digital Finance Functions and learn how they do things in their teams.

Winners will be announced on the 24th February at the Generation CFO Live Summit and will be published in The Shift section of GenerationCFO.com. Winners will receive an award and innovator membership of our GenerationCFO FiMind community.

Award Categories

We want to celebrate everything from small Friday projects to large scale transformations, from learning Power BI and data science to collaborating with the wider business on digital change!  There’s a category for you.

 

Learner of the year

For individuals who have learnt new skills relating to the digital finance function model (strategy, talent, change, collaboration, implementation)

For example, you may have learnt new skills in data analytics, our automation, and shared them with your peers.

Improver of the Year

For team members who have led and improved their role or the team’s output using skills relating to the digital finance function model

For example, you may have learnt new skills in technology,  automation, modelling and applied your knowledge to improve efficiency and effectiveness in your role.

Transformer of the Year

For senior leaders who have led and improved their role or the team’s output using skills relating to the digital finance function model

For example, you may have led change in your team, using a mix of new skills and talent to improve efficiency and effectiveness in your team or business.

Team of the Year

For the entire team under the CFO who has led and improved their team’s output using skills relating to the digital finance function model

For example, as a team you may have led change as a group, using a mix of new skills and talent to improve efficiency and effectiveness in your team or business.

Innovator of the Year

For new internal software development projects under the CFO

For example, you may have developed a model or app internally as an individual or team, and used it to improve your processes, information or performance.

Partner of the Year

For external software vendors on technology projects under the CFO

For example, you may have partnered on a CFO sponsored engagement to deliver your software; new process automation, new information or planning capability.

Implementation of the Year

For external consultants/consultancies on technology projects under the CFO

For example, you may have partnered on a CFO sponsored engagement to deliver change and/or technology; new systems, new talent, new processes and capability.

Future maker of the Year

For growth/new external software vendors or partner on technology projects under the CFO

For example, you may have founded and developed an application relevant to the accounting and finance industry for use by industry. You will be at the start of your journey, with few customers, but are making a real impact.

FiMind Member of the Year

Most supportive member of our community and forum, FiMind – decided by Chris Argent, Founder, Generation CFO

For example, you may be supporting our profession by being an advocate of digital change, leading a community group, helping educate others with advice and insight. Just going the extra mile!

Submit your application by 5th February 2021

Applications for the awards opened in January 2021 and will close 5th February 2021, extended from 29th January.  We will then shortlist application with our advisory board and judges in February and announce the industry winners on the 24th February at the Generation CFO Live Summit. The application process will be designed to be easy to use and not too time-consuming covering 4 areas; the situation the initiative; the task that needed to be done, what action was actually taken, and the result and impact on the business. Each application will be validated with the senior leader who sponsored the initiative (see application form).
