#BQs – What is your data visualisation policy? Do you need one?

I’ve got this!

I know Excel and three-way modelling, I know PowerPivot and PowerView, I know Powerpoint and all the animation, but what is your data visualisation standard?

A policy may seem a bit over the top, but if you want to communicate data to your business in the most meaningful way (simplified, standardised, skillfully) every time, for the fastest delivery of insight for decision making, you need to take data visualisation seriously.

Or as one Chinese proverb almost claimed, “One data visualisation is worth ten thousand data points”, or was that Napoleon…

And it’s not all about colours and fonts, as there is a lot of science behind data visualisation that could be brought in to your policy.

So do you have a data visualisation policy?  Do finance professionals need one?
