BQs – Qualifications or Experience?

It’s an age old question – qualifications or experience?

The easy answer is, of course, both, you cannot ignore academic credentials, they provide an understanding of theory and underpin knowledge, but it is experience that translates theoretical knowledge into practice…and profit.

Do the technological advances that we are experiencing mean that the qualification isn’t as important as it has been in the past? Or do we just need different qualifications?

In some industries, it can be argued that qualifications are vital and in others, such as finance, are these now nice to have and experience is the more vital ingredient?

So… qualifications or experience?
